Eye exercises are one way that you can improve your vision, rest your eyes, and relieve tension headaches from eye strain. Our experts at MLC want you to keep your eyes healthy with all the strain that comes from the digital technologies we use every day. Below are a few ideas we recommend as healthy eye exercises.

The 20/20/20 method

This eye exercise is probably the most known and used method of relieving eye strain when using computers and after Lasik eye surgery. In this drill, you should look at a distance of 20 feet for 20 seconds every 20 minutes that you are using a small screen.

Palming the eyes

Healthy eye exercises may not sound like they are important, but they can help you reset your vision. With this exercise, you should place the palms of your hands against your eye sockets and press slightly. When you see total darkness, you should try to see in the dark as far as you can for at least 30 seconds.

Focus on several distances

Working your vision from close to far and back is an excellent way to strengthen the eyes and give them a break from devices like computers. Start by looking at your thumb directly in front of your nose for a count of two and then hold your arm out fully and repeat. Then, look at something across the room from you for another one to two seconds. Next, look at something out the window, and then work your way back to your thumb in front of your face.

Taking frequent breaks, looking at long distances, and remember to blink often are some other ways you can use eye exercises to improve eye health. Our experts want you to have a clear vision for the rest of your life. Remembering to do healthy eye exercises while working or studying is one way to keep the eyes protected.
